The fabrication of inorganic nanocapsules is reported herein as a suitable experiment for introducing the design/development of functional nanostructures. The practical interest of this procedure comes from the wide range of applications of these composites, given the versatility of the method for very different materials. Indeed, nanocapsules have opened new insights into chemistry, biotechnology and materials science, and as a result, these systems have been exploited as drug carriers, nanoreactors and prototype artificial cells among other uses. The synthesis reported herein is accomplished through an easy three-step strategy, jointly describing some of the most common techniques employed to produce nanomaterials.
